Our
Story

 L É O N I E

A Latin-origin feminine given name meaning "LIONESS",

Having spent my childhood in Burma surrounded by a creative community of relatives such as tailors, actors and film makers, helped ignite the affection for creating art , sketching and designing clothes from an early age.

During my countless visits to Burma over the many years, I found it impossible to find modern yet easy to wear garments made especially using locally sourced luxury materials.

After much trial and error, years of researching and sourcing, I am delighted to introduce S T U D I O  L É O N I E Resort Wear capsule collections.

With love, Khin

Born from the desire to thoughtfully highlight hand loomed luxury fibers combined with simple, understated, minimalist designs.

The ethos of  S T U D I O  L É O N I E  Resort Wear

  • Proudly using a truly ‘slow‘ process of traditional hand weaving and natural dyeing methods making each garment truly unique.

  • Showcasing natural materials such as Lotus Fiber, Silk, Banana Fiber and Cotton.

  • Generating the natural dye process using seasonal plants, barks, roots and flowers such as Gooseberry, Almond leaves, Kokko bark, onion skins etc.

  • Limiting the number of garments produced by offering just one size, hence lowering waste and help cut down on over production.

  • playing a small role in providing much needed income to generations of small weaving businesses of Burma.

  • Collaborating directly with the Atelier team at Turquoise Mountain NGO, ensuring fair wages on each piece made.
